Nice boar

Not sure which one made the shot, one missed and one got him right in the heart. They fired at the same time. I suggested a body shot because we had several hundred yards before the tree line. His heart was liquified but he made it well over 100 yards before falling over.

If its close to a treeline I suggest a neck shot if you can, but a heart lung WILL kill them with a 223 every time. They can just run a bit with that shot(5 to 100+yards), caliber doesn't matter. Kill the heart and the body will die, just not always in the field you shot them in. I don't suggest 'head' shots with any caliber on large hogs, miss it by just a little and it will deflect, even with a 308. Neck shots are the ones I suggest most often, lots of blood vessels and a spine, drops them in their shadow usually.

Nice insight thanks.
