Caught these three little spots Thursday afternoon. Victoria Landing boat ramp. Walk along the bank to the left of the ramp and cast out towards the shallow water marker. The spots stack up on that rocky point. I caught a couple of nice ones there in the fall.
I was using a Strike King...
In the summer I’ve had luck through the culvert in the lily pads. My most consistent catch is at the rock wall, just past the island and under the power lines. There is a steep drop off there about 10 feet from the bank. It drops from about 10’ to 30’ and the fish suspend along that drop. I’ve...
Had a little luck today and saw a couple other guys from Georgia Kayak Fishing.
Both fish were just a little over a pound. Caught one on a Rage Swimmer underspin and the other on a watermelon fluke jr. on a drop shot.
I’m taking the kayak up to Canton tomorrow morning for a couple of hours of fishing. Probably be on the water around 10.
Anyone else fish up there? I’ll be paddling a green Vibe.
We kayak fish there a lot. The water has been too low the last month or so. In the spring and summer we float down past 575 and have had good luck along the rock walls and out onto the lake past the waterfall. Mainly catch largemouth Bass and bream, with the occasional catfish.
Get a magnet tied to paracord. I drop it onto the limbs of submerged trees, especially when the water is low, and pull up lures. I replace the treble hooks and put them back to work!
The guy I fish with has a 105 from AppOut also! Really stable boat, I've seen him standing up with his paddle over his head trying to get a lure out of a tree limb (one he found, not one he cast). He added a rudder this past week and said that it really made a big difference.
I went fishing Allatoona Lake on Sunday. Put in at the boat ramp near Little River Marina and headed upstream towards Blankets Creek. Caught several small bass, but nothing great.
Saw a guy free diving near the boat ramp. He would stay down a long time, then resurface and put something in a...
We always called them writing spiders because of the design in the web. Also heard them called garden spiders and banana spiders. As a kid, I would catch grasshoppers and throw them into the web.
Finally got my wife onto some bass! She has only caught bream from the kayak until today. She’s hooked now! Her hands were shaking with excitement when she was trying to get the hook out of her fish. We need to get her a better boat. She is using my old Sun Dolphin that I used before getting...
Spent both days this weekend on the water. Caught a few different kinds of bass and several bream, nothing big but a lot of fun. Hard to see in the picture, but one of the bass had just eaten a crawdad. The claws were sticking up out of the fish’s throat! Floated up really close to a deer on...
Awesome! I work commercial construction, so I'm working 6 days a week forever, or until this building boom slows down. Do you fish on Sunday mornings? Is the Etowah slow enough that I can paddle back to my car, or do I need to figure out a 2nd pick up point to take me back upstream?
First day on the water on the new Vibe! I love it! Tracks so straight and is very comfortable. Water was a muddy mess, but I caught a small bass, and my wife caught her first fish from a kayak. She is using my old Sun Dolphin, but I think she will want an upgrade soon. Someone go buy the CZ...
