They were mostly submerged still in the same case (water resistant- not proof apparently), stuck under a tree growing on the side of the creek.
But, they are in good shape. Only a little surface rust.
Absolutely went to the ATM to get neighbor a thank you. He was extremely reluctant to accept but I told him it meant a lot to me to get the guns back. Just a salt of the earth guy. I love living here. I was bummed about the flood but this helps tremendously.
They have a little rust in some areas. I soaked them in oil and letting them dry.
They were probably submerged for 3 weeks unfortunately. They were new, never fired so maybe the factory stuff helped protect?
Funny you say this. I made a post on the Blairsville Facebook page and two utility companies that came out had heard about my guns floating away.
I’m optimistic.
I wish I could. But I'm new to the area and I would be trespassing on peoples land. The way the water was flowing and the volume, they are nowhere near here anymore.
Actually yes. Not sure what caliber but I did lose at least one ammo can. It wasn't full obviously.
If anyone finds them, I'll pay a reward. They are sentimental value mostly. I bought them for my two children.
