That is the correct sight for that rifle. No dove-tail in barrel for leaf sights. Done at the factory. Have the same rifle in my collection. Called the RS version if I remember correctly.

I had the dehydrated ones when I first came in service. I still have one of the original dark brown meals somewhere. One of the ones where each meal came with beans in tomato sauce. These are all different and most are pretty tasty. Personally I like the lemon and orange pound cakes that some have.

Welcome to the trader. Just a FYI the barrel you have is not for a M60. It is for a M240 series that replaced the M60. More than likely a M240B. Your caliber designation
