If I had a high end 1911 I’d buy mammoth grips. They’d be almost half the cost of any 1911 I currently own. As much as I love my Colts I ain’t dressing them up in $400+ grips lol
I’ve got a RMR on a Glock with several thousand rounds through it. Never had any need to change/tighten screws. Replaced the battery twice which involves removal and a re-zero. I’d say as long as you loctite, properly torque, and witness mark the screws you’ll be fine. If the optic goes down...
