The ones I looked at had some wear, but no major damage. I was planning to refinish (blue) anyways, so it wasn't a major consideration for me. This was in late 2015, so I don't know what their inventory looks like now. Also, I don't think Adventure Outdoors is open on Sunday, IIRC. Good luck!
I'm not sure if they still have these, but Adventure Outdoors had a bunch of police magnums in their used display cases. Mostly receivers from the 80's, blued.
I think both of your barrel options are excellent. I'm planning to use the Ak-builder barrel myself. I've had really good luck with his stuff so far, and the barrel being "in the white" is fine because the whole rifle will have to be finished.
I'm not sure if this is still an issue, but NoDak's were having an issue with rust around the center support. You can read about it here (Rust Issues). I had this happen to me before I replaced the center supports. I'll go with Childers from now on. They install the center supports after heat...
I think Dillon is arguing that the swager puts stress on the shell plate that it's not designed to take. I can't speak to the truthfulness of this claim.
