Well 11/11 started out a crappy day, I missed my alarm call, so I was late getting into the field, forgot my flashlight, grunt call, water and gloves.
Blundered through the woods in the dark to my stand, sounding like a herd of buffalo and finally got to my stand just as the sun was coming up...
I had a Sierra Gameking ricochet down off a shoulder last year and take off the buck's foot. It hurt the animal badly enough that I was able to track it down and finish it off, but it didn't penetrate. It made me think twice about using them.
Up until about 2-3 weeks ago I had bucks on all of my cameras, now I just have does and fawns. Where did they all go?
I know they start to wander more about now, but no sign at all (except for the occasional buck turd)?
I have the misfortune to only be able to approach my stands from the N-NE so over the last few years I've been forced to work hard on scent control.
Last year I experimented with a cheap ozone generator, I'd put my clothes in a plastic bag and pump the ozone in for a couple of hours before I'd...

2. If it isn't too early...
If he was being on the up and up, he would have showed the other side of the does head.
Btw has anyone ever died from standing on a train platform when a high speed comes through?
I shot a nice buck a couple of years ago from 135 yards with a 150 grain Hornaday ballistic tip, the bullet stopped just under the skin on the opposite side of his body, completely unexpanded. He went a good distance before he piled up.
The first one was a 180lb 8 point with a badly damaged rack from fighting I'm guessing. I rattled him in on the first day of gun season, he literally ran up to my stand. The second one I killed yesterday, he's a 145lb 8 point that got careless and crossed a field in broad daylight.
