We haven't seen one on the property since early November. I know they are down there; just have gone completely nocturnal. Brother went down today to run the tractor and mower to charge the battery and was going to hunt this evening.
Nothing moving on the property this evening in Meriwether. However, it was a pleasant sit and watched the squirrels that sounds like German Shepards playing in the dry leaves in the woods. Only heard a couple of shots, and they may not have been deer hunting.
Looking to do an afternoon/evening hunt after get done with some errands. Hoping they are moving on the property as it will be a WINDY day by the lake.
I have never field dressed one in all my years hunting. Cooler charges the same either way and actually prefers that they come in without being field dressed. They said that they don't have to worry about meat being contaminated or done incorrectly. They are 2 miles from where we hunt and...
No one wants deer hunting until they hit one with a car and do 5k or more in damages. Then they are like kill all of them. Just wait until a "cute" yote takes their beloved house pet and see how they change.
I've wanted to go out in the woods last 4 days; but someone at work passed along the crud to me. Hard to hunt when you feel like you are trying to hack up a lung. Better now, but working next 4 days. There is always next week and might even get lucky and see one of the BIG bobcats in the area.
Anyone heading out today? They were moving last night on my way home from work and brother said he saw 6 does with a buck in his yard. If I see them moving this morning on the way to work, I'll update with what I saw.
Good Luck
I had a deer cross in front of me this morning about 5am that had 2 "spikes" or oversized knobs on its head and still covered in velvet. First time seeing this.
