  1. Let’s see those long slides!

Daaaaaamn! Look at that fit-and-finish. Amazing!
  2. 45acp Carbine

HK USC is awesome! It'll be around $1,300 if you do your research, but I've seen 1k used...
  3. Cheap (inexpensive) guns you just love

^^^ That Bulldog (.44 spc) is my summer carry, with Hornady Critical Defense. Very light, very concealable and great shooter with lighter gr ammo!
  4. Favorite .22 pistol

    Badlander
  5. Suppressed rimfire question

There can be huge differences within pistols, using the same can and ammo. At one time I had a Walther P22 and a Sig Mosquito (turd). The Walther was movie-quiet, but the Sig didn't sound like it had much of a suppressor out front at all. The can manufacturer told me that the microsecond that...
  6. Lever rifles

** Update ** Traded yesterday for a very nice, Winchester 94 in 30-30. Purported to be a 1972. Nice shape. Can't wait to shoot! Regarding the above thread, my Pop always LOVED the westerns when I was a kid. Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Branded, Rawhide, The rifleman... craziest thing, though, my house...
  7. Lever rifles

    ^^ In for that...
  8. Lever rifles

I can't wait. Probably leaning towards a 44 mag/spl, as I carry a Bulldog a lot in the summer. Nice to consolidate calibers when possible. As I don't yet hunt (reading the news, we ALL might be hunting for our food in a year or so), I like decent iron sights. One thing that the lever-haters fail...
  9. Lever rifles

Thanks, y'all. I appreciate the input.
  10. Lever rifles

Just curious. I have little experience with lever guns, and was thinking of picking one up, likely in a pistol caliber (.44 mag/.44 spec/.45 LC). I read a slightly older thread somewhere here a few days ago where someone took a huge dump on lever guns for accuracy, range and quality. I can't...
  11. 30.06

Thank you, just got educated! Probably not a shocker, but I'm not a hunter. My use of larger rifle rounds are limited. I appreciate the responses.
  12. 30.06

Cool. Does the red primer mean anything? From the above threads, im guessing corrosive...
  13. 30.06

Good info. Thanks y'all. I did check out the rounds, they are marked DEN 43. Also, the primers all have red markings, done after production...
  14. 30.06

Going through the ammo pile tonight, I found a few boxes of 30.06 that I got eons ago with a Garand purchase. Some of the boxes of 20 have red tape to open to get into the box. They are definitely old-and--half. Does this mean corrosive or otherwise nasty?
  15. 30.06

    Fail
  16. Texas does it again!

  17. Ammo! Again!

Updated post from a week or so back. Just left Cumming Academy. LOTS of steel .223; .45; .380 (big boxes); .450 Bushmaster; 28 Gauge; and a few more (as of 3:35 on 2/2). Didn't have my phone/camera on me. Can't remember all. It doesn't seem to make it to the shelves, they just bring out a cart...
  18. Ammo!

    Just left Cumming Academy. Hornady Premium 25-06- $35; Monarch 5.45 x 39 -$9; and Monarch 7.62 x 39 - $10. They had a lot! Good luck!
  19. A few questions...

Thank you for the replies, but I'm still unclear about the .224... Even the Interwebs don't have a clear answer.
  20. A few questions...

Dumbass questions that I don't know the simple answer to: 1) I have several DA revolvers, some with grooved trigger, some smooth. Quality seems not to be a factor. Is this just personal preference, or is there an advantage to one for a good shooter? 2) I keep seeing .224 Predator mentioned...
