  1. Took the M1903A4 out

I've definitely been impressed by it, seems to be more accurate than my ability
  2. Took the M1903A4 out

Definitely some nice 03-A3s. The A4s are a bit more scarce though. There still marked as A3s but it is offset so that the scope mount doesn't cover it.
  3. Took the M1903A4 out

I don't think so, I actually found mine on outdoor trader. It was in a sporter stock but I got lucky, it had most of the hard to find parts still.
  4. Took the M1903A4 out

150 grain fmj, hxp brass, loaded to duplicate m2 ball

    A few more pictures...
  7. Took the M1903A4 out

What I see... The crosshair covers the point of aim.
  8. Took the M1903A4 out

Pretty sure it's more accurate than me. The 2.5 magnification scope is a challenge. Only shooting at 50 yards right now. Waiting on the barrel to cool again.
  9. WwII issued savage 720, s&w triple lock .44 special wondering value in its condition

Those savages normally go for a lot less than $1500, but I'm not surprised that bass pro had something priced that high. Also I'm pretty sure the adjustable choke was added on by someone later. I don't think they had those when they used them for training.
  10. 1903A4 Find

Got to take it out again this past Sunday, I was able to install the new barrel myself, and rented a pull through reamer to finish ream it. This is the first five shots out of the new barrel, and then 30 more rounds on the second target at 100 yards. I ended up with 50 fire formed cases, and...
  11. 1903A4 Find

Definitely a sweet shooter, and one of my favorites.
  12. 1903A4 Find

Went and shot the ol'girl with the original barrel, not really sure If I should replace it with the new one. It did pretty well to look so rough.
  13. 1903A4 Find

From what I'm reading mine should be mid 40's production. It's an early 4 digit serial numbered scope.
  14. 1903A4 Find

Here's the other side... I think the scope matches well, does anyone know how to get a production date for lyman scopes?
  15. 1903A4 Find

Beyond excited, I can't wait to take it to the range...
  16. Adventures in parkerizing

I cleaned it when it first came in the mail, it was pretty grimy from storage. I've been periodically wiping it down with a 50/50 mix of boiled linseed oil and mineral spirits as it looks dry.
  17. Adventures in parkerizing

    Another for good measure, lol
  18. Adventures in parkerizing

I'm very pleased with how it turned out, can't wait to get it installed on my A4. It was a new old stock barrel, and I still had a container of the old grease that it was packed in left over from when I originally got the barrel. I'm gonna let it sit coated in it for awhile. All greased up...
  19. 1903A4 Find

More pictures, couldn't sleep last night so I finished fitting everything. Pretty happy with the cut out for the bolt, looks pretty close to a real one I think.
  20. 1903A4 Find

Making progress, still have to fit a few things though. Need to oil the stock some more too I think, I've been using 50/50 mineral spirits and boiled linseed oil.
