If you want to mount a scope check out the one made by DAI Management and sold by Brownells. No drill mount, comes with longer screws for the ejector and safety (that’s where it mounts) good solid mount that is easy to mount and quick to put it back to original if you want.
These rifles have a reputation of less than stellar accuracy ( wandering zero), but the one I had was a good shooter, maybe not “match grade” but plenty good to hunt with. I took quite a few deer with mine.
Another point is the metal is painted, not blued or phosphate. Also, replacement (NOS)...
Very nice! Looks like a war time production, no cap on the end of the fore stock .
