Well the crockpot turkey breast was a big hit. I was a bit worried this morning because it wasn’t completely thawed. Put a bunch of poultry seasoning on it and put it in the pot with maybe 8-10 ounces of chicken broth. Cooked on high for around 6 hours. Shut off when it was 167. They all said...
I am going to brine overnight. I am only going to use some poultry seasoning and cook in chick broth. Hoping it will be done in 6 hours. If it sux I still got ham.
Anybody ever cook a turkey breast in a crockpot? Any tips or suggestions? Brine? No brine? Seasoning? Planning on trying it this year. Will also do a ham on the BGE. Have always done both on BGE’s but mixing it up this year.
Happy Thanksgiving
Well I put a butt on the egg yesterday about 6 and pulled this morning about 9. Perfect internal temp of 205. No rub no injection no wrap. Cooked on foil. Just hickory smoke and fire. It is one of the best for me. Haven’t cooked one in at least 2 years.
Here is one from my hometown. Never had a pork there but did have some .25 drafts there. Need to go back. This tavern was next to my Catholic school. Lol
Yes i was raised in rural Illinois. Amana meat co wants $14 each. 7 for $100. Aint paying that much for convenience. Will have to check Culvers menu. Never got past the burgers. And will look at Costco next time. Can’t beat a pork sandwich when seasoned right. Wish I knew all the secrets.
Well how I make them is take a pork tenderloin and slice it into about 1 1/2 pieces and then take a meat hammer to it with points down and pound it out until it is about 3/8” think then bread with egg butter milk and whatever type of breading you want. Season with salt pepper and whatever else...
Does anyone know if any stores sell breaded frozen patties? It is a regional sandwich from the midwest. I can make them myself but would be nice just to grab a patty and fry for a quick meal.
Sauce is vegetable oil and vinegar with spices. The vinegar cuts the oil to make it very flammable. It is fantastic. Old family recipe on my wifes side.
I have two BGE but will be cooking these on a Weber kettle because the sauce I will be using is extremely flammable. So charcoal on one side and cooking on the other.
Can anyone tell me about how long it take to grill leg quarters? Only have grilled halves low and slow. Trying to figure out out how long it’s gonna take to grill so I can have sides done around same time. Thanks
I had 3 filets to cook for us. Lit the egg and had steaks on the table. Waiting for it to get up to high temp I went into get something. Wife started talking and I got delayed. Came out to a empty plate. My dog had eat all 3 raw. This is him after the deed.
