Thanks for the heads up. I've been noticing more and more with my knees, as well as my shoulders and didn't want to do anything that was going to require surgery or a prescription. I'll have to check it out.
Sucks man, sorry you're going through this. Made a mistake in my early 20s and married a hoe. Divorced a year later and thankfully had good friends and family to support me. Met my wife a year later and we've been together for 19 years now so as rough as it was it was a blessing for me.
Yeah I was hoping so. It's tough, I have to get out of that mindset of food=pleasure and more in to the food=fuel mindset as mentioned here already. Just ate a big bowl of pasta last night
Reading all this makes me want to start. I'm not obese, doc says only about 15-20 lbs or so overweight, mostly in the gut region  Mid 40's so metabolism is slowing down. Last few physicals my BP is OK but my cholesterol is sneaking up to where they may want to start me on meds soon, but...
I'm a light sleeper and can usually wake up at the drop of a pin if any unusual noise occurs. I also sleep with three large dogs in the room with me. So light is off. I figured they'll bark loud enough to scare somebody just long enough for me to get to my senses and have my shotty ready.
Exactly. I wish people would stop going to get tested. Of course it's going to say Covid. Unless I feel bad enough to need some prescription meds or something I'm not going to the Dr.
Is that Liver King?
Just kidding man. Nice results! I haven't tried it. It would definitely be a life altering change. I'm usually getting those hunger pains by 10AM and have to eat an early lunch. Hungry again by evening. I do go to the gym though 4-5 days a week, so not sure if that...
Actually he's in decent shape for an older guy . But I definitely know that when I just started cutting back on crap and portion size, along with some moderate exercise, I dropped some lbs. Still eat what I want meal wise, but cut out the sugary stuff, sodas, tea, etc. It sucked for a...
I know it sounds super cliche man, but these fad type diets never work long term for the majority of people. I know there are success stories and people that will recommend them, etc. But as my doc told me, all weight loss really boils down to, is eating less and moving more. Calculate what you...
Knock on wood but I haven't even had a common cold in over a year. No vaccine, either Flue or Covid. I just take my daily supplements of Zinc, C, & Elderberry.
I thought only kids got RSV, or had bad reactions to it. I guess now they're saying adults too? I think I'll pass. My niece had to spend some time in the hospital as a baby with RSV but just about any illness is dangerous for an infant.
Sounds like we have similar builds. That's how they measure me too. And weighed me fully clothed, shoes and belt on too. I'm like you don't want me to take that off first? Nope. Well congrats now your fat.
Yeah that's another one. I weigh about 210 at about 6'1". They said my BMI is about 27, which is considered overweight. So yeah put me on those pills I guess.
I will add that, when they said I needed to go on statins, my cholesterol was 228... my HDL was fine. Triglycerides were high too, around 220s. The more I read in to it that seems pretty low to be put on meds... but they said by total should be under 200 and Tri under 150...
Thank you for your input. I agree, I don't like being on them. And I've noticed the side effects as well. I'm in my mid 40s and eat pretty well and exercise pretty regularly. I noticed pain in my joints not long after going on them. I also started having sleep issues when I never used to before...
Interesting. So my issue has always been high cholesterol but my blood pressure is always fine. Started taking fish oil and drinking more water, also moved to sea salt. But my cholesterol is still higher than normal. Nothing like crazy high, but in the high range of normal to low range of bad if...
You mean like from alcohol or just poor diet? I've heard good things about milk thistle either way but you'd need to cut out the offending cause as well. Sounds like you're on the right track with the exercise and weight loss though!
