  1. Glock scratches- voice your opinion

Drop it off at the Glock offices in Smyrna. They will refinish the slide to correct factory finish for $65. They will also check out the whole thing, replace any worn parts and exchange old magazines for free while it’s there.
  2. M1 Garand barrel replacement help

Steve aka NSUSSF, on our site, replaced my M1 Garand barrel and did a detailed maintainance on it at a very reasonable price. I left him a detailed feedback review this morning; check it out if you need assistance.
  3. M1 Garand barrel replacement help

Thanks all, there are sources out these locally. I’ll make contacts after Christmas.
  4. M1 Garand barrel replacement help

Hello, I’m looking for a good Georgia source for a barrel swap on my 1944 Springfield Garand with a later Springfield barrel with less wear that I will provide. My clean rifle has the original barrel, but it is shot out. Just looking for someone with experience, knowledge and tools to do the...
  5. Advice for beginning 2 1911 builds

Check out Sarco Inc. online. They sell a variety of frames and parts at reasonable parts. I bought a new Para Ordinance frame from them for my first build. Found a matching new slide on Numrich for a great price. There are a lot of good Youtube videos out there. Main internal parts will take...
  6. Need a few 1911A1 items.

Thank you, I’m looking for a checkered mag release and a checkered thumb safety for my type 2 1943 Remington Rand 1911A1. I have original finish on the grip so it’s not blued, kind of a lighter parkerized finish, but I’m open for whatever you can find.
  7. Need a few 1911A1 items.

Wanted to see if any of the Gunsmiths or collectors have a few parts to sell. I need a parkerized checkered mag release and a checkered thumb safety for a Type 2 Remington Rand 1943 1911A1 pistol. Just trying to replace some Ithaca parts that were on my newly received CMP purchase. I have...
  8. Nylon 66 Scratches and Swirls

I used a headlight restore liquid lightly by hand and then used a turtle way car polish by hand. It took out most of the light rub marks and swirles.
  9. Looking for a Gunsmith near Gainesville.

He did work for me 2 months ago. Shop is open 10am-12 Pm. He has an apprentice he’s training. Hogleg is a great guy, not many like him.
  10. Ruger LCP repair.

When I first got into guns 6 years or so ago, I had a Keltec pistol that broke the firing pin. I paid a gunsmith too much to fix it, I feel stupid now knowing how quick and easy it was to do myself with YouTube and a punch. Hope you get it going one way or the other. I have one of those LCP2's...
  11. Ruger LCP repair.

I am no gunsmith, but I have broken down and upgraded numerous guns just by watching a good YouTube video and stoping and starting as I progress. Most don't take any expensive tools and if you can't get it together, then go to a gunsmith.
  12. Glock trigger upgrade?

I always put at least a 3.5 lb connector on my Glocks plus polish internals. I like the Zev brand a bit better, but it generally only lightens the pull a pound.
  13. Help me screw up my Glock

This is a question I'd expect from someone at 1:45 am after the member finished off his tenth beer...this came at 2:43 in the afternoon!
  14. Glock Gen 1 disassembly

Here is a close-up the trigger assembly isn't free of the frame. If I try to pull it straight up it's locked into the frame.
  15. Glock Gen 1 disassembly

Maybe I should take a picture. Usually the whole assembly lifts fight out. This one has the left side of the back trigger star part lock into a slot in the frame.
  16. Glock Gen 1 disassembly

    What??
  17. Glock Gen 1 disassembly

I'm trying to take my newly acquired Glock 17 Gen 1 trigger assembly out and it does not lift out like my Gen 4 and 5's. I have the pins pulled, slide realease and block removed, but the trigger is locked into the frame slightly. I can't find anything on YouTube or google with instructions and...
  18. Henry .22 firing pin locking pin

I contacted Henry and in about two days they emailed they were sending me 3 pins at no charge. I promised to give them good reviews on the different gun forums I visit, so here is the first one. It's the first problem with that gun after thousands of rounds. The only one I have that can shoot...
  19. Henry .22 firing pin locking pin

i have a Henry H001 ..22 rifle that I had the firing pin fall out of last night. I have the firing pin and spring, but it looks like the pin that goes through the slide to connect the firing pin broke. I contacted Henry to see if I could get a replacement roll pin, but haven't heard back. Does...
  20. Has anyone been to Hogleg Smith?

He is great, fair price and will get it done when he says he will. Call ahead and make an appointment. He's the only gunsmith I would use in the area, I'm lucky he's only 20 min away.
