Congress' latest plan to control guns: $10,000 fine for gun owners who don’t have insurance.

“It shall be unlawful for a person who owns a firearm purchased on or after the effective date of this subsection not to be covered by a qualified liability insurance policy,” the bill text reads.
The bill would also make it a federal crime to sell a firearm to anyone without insurance.
“For too long, gun victims and society at large have borne the brunt of the costs of gun violence,” Maloney said as she introduced the legislation. “My bill would change that by shifting some of that cost back onto those who own the weapons.”

Wouldn't that make owning a gun a privilege and not a right? Sorta like a driver's license?

Oh wait, carry licenses. I guess it's not a right.

I'll go along with it if they require everyone who drinks to purchase insurance, or smokes, or owns baseball bats or knives.
Makes about as much sense...

Nope....Not going to pay **** to them

If being free requires me to become a criminal....then so be it.

Our forefathers said this was going to happen ..... the land of the free, home of the brave is now... land of the brave patriots, that are now considered criminals for not surendering their right to bare arms without risk of tyranny.

.

In order for insurance to cover the firearm they would need the serial number . Seems to me like a sneaky way for them to get you to register all firearms .
