10/22 Porn

I waffled on this and finally decided the weight savings would be worth it. I picked up a lightly used TacSol X-Ring barrel and put it on my 10/22 TD.

I think I’m going to drop the Venom and rail for now and zero to the FO irons. That ought to knock a couple more ounces off.

Initial groups were 2.5” at 50 meters using a rolled up towel for a rest. I only had one type of ammo to play with today so I’m hoping to find something that groups a little tighter over the next few range trips.

Very nice Backpacker setup. A great trigger makes all the difference on open sights guns. Brimstone Level 2 for 2# of awesome. And you can match the trigger color to your rig. LOL
This gun is the poster child for money pit. It started out as a basic $300 Takedown. Then it got the $60 Ruger BX trigger pack, then the Williams Fire sights (on the OEM barrel,) then the $85 Magpul stock, then the $200 Venom, and now a $200 barrel. I still need to install an extended mag release and do the bolt release conversion.

Maybe it's just me but I've learned to hate extended mag releases. Far too easy to dump your mag on the ground. They look cool but they damn just get in the way.
You found a bargain on the backpacker stock.

The ones that wrap down the trigger guard are a nightmare. Hate em with a passion
