10/22 Porn

The receiver on my fiber optic Feddersen barreled "Tennessee Ridge Runner" as I call it had stripped threads on the receiver hold down screw hole. She was sloppy to say the least.
Sent the receiver back to Ohio with toobaroque toobaroque for a oversized tap and oversize screw to fix the problem. She is back together and better than ever. He even sent the 15/64 high carbon drill bit to relieve the escutcheon to accommodate the oversized screw. Thanks Bro.

Battle ready unit now! Glad I could help. Don't shoot up all of MY ammo!

since this group knows all about 10/22- I'm considering a charger or new 10/22, and looking at the Take Down models. Any issues with accuracy or wear long term now that they have been out for a while?

I can't honestly comment on long-term wear, but given that it's quality stainless steel components, I don't think that will be an issue. It's not as though you're taking it apart multiple times a day.
As for accuracy, I find them to be equal to a stock 10/22 provided that the barrel adjustment collar is adjusted properly. It needs to be tight. I find people complain about accuracy when they have not adjusted the link up as tight as it will go.
If your objective is to put your new gun in a personal backpack, definitely consider the backpacker versus the standard take down model. Extra mags and everything plus the Magpul stock is quite comfortable.

Not sure what kind of accuracy you're looking to get, but I consistently shoot groundhogs out to 150 yards with mine with standard velocity ammo. As far as wear goes, let's face it...in the next ten years how many times do you really thing you will take it down and put it back together? Maybe 50? Maybe 100? I would not fear any undue "wear" from take-down / assembly as the parts are well fitted and there is no movement once the lockup is complete.

I put just under 10,000 rounds through one of my take-downs when shooting steel challenge and rimfire challenge. I haven’t seen any noticeable loss in accuracy.

As mentioned above, getting the collar set correctly and seating the bolt properly when reattaching the barrel are important to consistent accuracy.

perfect. I've been leaning towards a charger as I don't have one yet, and being able to have it that compact without worrying about the overall length might be fun. Something like a PCMCA or whatever chassis might be cool.
