10/22 Porn

What kind of receiver is that?
It was this (pic below). Sold everything but kept the receiver to build a long gun.

Alright guys I'm itching for something new to tinker around with. I have two 10/22's, one with a rather nice walnut stock without the barrel band. It's a mid-90's make with metal trigger and I keep it around because the stock is so nice and it is fairly accurate. I also have the original birch stock that's gathering closet dust. The other is a standard synthetic stock that sports a the lasermax laser and I use it as my nightly armadillo killer, it is super accurate.

The itching isn't from a dirty woman but my plan for a suppressor in 2017 and while I could have the factory barrel threaded I just don't think it'd look right. A standard tapered barrel with a 1.25" suppressor on the end?

So I'm at a crossroads. At this point I have four options that I can see. Option 1: Buy a threaded bull barrel and a hogue stock and do away with the synthetic stock, accurate factory barrel and laser.
Option 2: Buy the 10/22 takedown target.
Option 3: Buy the 10/22 target tactical and have the barrel threaded.
Option 4: Build from the ground up as many of you have done.

Option 1 is obviously cheaper and can be done quickly since it is the cheaper route but the question is, what barrels should I consider?

The purpose of this is to have a hunt and paper punching accurate .22 that I can suppress while not looking awkward.

So, what say you?

Option 4. Hands down. You can buy parts that don't need to be upgraded from the start. Barrel, trigger, bolt, and optics. Especially if you have invested in a tax stamp and can already. Keep the super accurate laser as is.

Takedown accuracy is not repeatable in my experience.

Buying a factory rifle and having it threaded still leaves you with a factory barrel, trigger, and bolt.

Awesome.. Hey just a POV and I like suggesting where you should spend your money.. I know Harris is considered the "standard" but I find them to be a PITA to put on and off.. I think UTG is a cleaner look and much easier to remove or put back on because it goes on a short rail.. It connects to the factory stud.. I cant find a picture of my chargers or I would show you..

Totally agree. This one was a freebie I had laying around for years. Thanks for the tip!
