Where'd you get that receiver? I bought mine from S&P Outfitters on the webbernet.

Almost finished. All I need now is a good little optic for this baby and I'm ready to go. Well, and a little barrel end appurtenance would be nice, too!

How is the receiver fit in that stock?

Very snug and tight. I like how it fit. Only problem was the receiver screw hole seems to be at a very slight angle and I had to push it over a little to get the threads started. Other than that, It is great.

I have a couple Fab Defense stocks for a 10/22 I put together that is precision tight. They are the best by far that I have ever tried.

Brownells has a 16.5" with threaded barrel for $89.00. Dang tempting price even at 2.8lbs.
I find that I really prefer the heavier .92 barrels over the featherweights not so much from an accuracy POV but the way I can hold them steady when free hand. My Shaw is not threaded (the reason the guy sold it) but I am not a can guy anyway.

Anyone have experience with ER Shaw barrels?
Shaw barrel. I have moved this to a Hogue stock versus my home modified takeoff wood stock.

The stock is sitting in the corner if anyone is interested. Just needs finished where I cut and sanded. :)

Gadgets, I agree completely. I do much better with my heavy barrel free hand than lightweight or even a factory taper. I been considering getting a Green mountain or Fedderson heavy taper for my next build.
