Not going today, saw 2 yesterday evening but no shooters. Good luck guys and gals.........
Getting ready to head back down today and see if I can get another one. Anyone rattling yet and getting results?
I rattled in the 10 point I killed a week ago Saturday, but the rut peaked early where I was hunting.
I’m 20’ up a Georgia pine looking down several skidder trails.

Interesting morning. I slipped along the edge of a swamp after I got good light and had a good doe come in. I was going to pop her, but then heard the grunting. A buck was trailing her about 40 yards back. I couldn't get a good look at his rack, though I could have easily killed him. Low was clear, but at his head height it was thicker. She finally busted me at about 15 yards, but did not snort when she left. He stopped and was looking for what spooked her and spotted me, but wasn't sure what I was. He hung around for a couple of minutes trying to figure it out and then he trotted off following her. That was when I finally got a pretty good look at him. We was a good 8 or maybe 10 and if I had not already killed a buck this year, he was a shooter, but I'm glad I let him go. A few minutes later a fork horn came looking for her, too.
