My wife asked me last night as I was rewashing my clothes, “why are you going hunting if you feel so bad and have been sick?” I immediately knew she wouldn’t understand my two word answer of, “the rut,” but I just told her it’s day three of steroids and I’m trying to get on the level of these bucks.
In all seriousness, this is my favorite spot to hunt but I have not seen near the number of deer this year that I have the last two. Thanksgiving week is always crazy around here and I woke up feeling something in the air today. It’s quiet and still with no wind. I’m also loaded down with vs1 scent And more hopeful that the last few times out. Hopefully I can sevr a big one today.

One lone doe is all I've seen. I saw 4 yesterday evening. Other than that it's been quiet. The cameras are only picking up sporadic movement. They better show up soon 'cause I gotta head home soon.
