11/24 deer hunt

Congrats!!!
Well, I saw 9 this evening. Nothing I really wanted to shoot once again. I thought for a moment a large buck had stepped out just before dark, only to put the scope on his rack and realize I was mistaken. After he walked beside a small doe, I realized his body wasnt as big as I thought and he wasnt worth a bullet for at least another month.
I believe I have been cursed. I’ve never shot more than 2 deer a year. That covers me and the wife for a year. I have a guy at work wanting one, and all I keep getting are glimpses of deer or bad feelings. I’m seeing deer just no good shots. I’m going keep trying though.

Jumped two on my way up the ridge this evening.
40 Min before last Light I caught a sneaky one trying to sneak across some heavy brush.
I heard a stick snap and it gave it away.
It ended up bedding down till dark.
It was 100 yards out.
I had the crossbow but I’m bringing my 308 tomorrow.

They’ll be gnawing on bushes soon since the acorns and leaves are getting scarce.

Do they eat briars? It looks like all the briars have been knawed off where I’m hunting.
