So I got a good deal on some 125gr hornady sst bullets. Ive recently had foot surgery so I'm doing a lot of reloading since I'm stuck at home. I can not find a good starting load for this bullet using varget. Was wondering if anyone else has had any luck.

From hodgdon loading site.
I would sub a hornaday for Sierra if the bullet profile looked the same, your call.

That's the only info I've found online. I put the 48 grains into some lake city brass and it's very full it's almost compressing even with this small of a bullet.

Yep I agree, military brass is thicker, I would cut down .5 to 1grn starting and work up from there. Always watching for pressure. I drop down 1grn switching from regular primers to magnum primer. It seems I am alway at the same load, better to reduce just in case and work up. I do sub bullets all the time if the profile are the same, just reduce a hair. I like full cases with rifle powder and I switch to mag primers for a good burn, others do not.
However that just what I do.

From the Hornady Reloading Manual(308). Purchased from Apple I-Tunes and installed on phone and tablet. It is nice. Although, it does not show data for Varget.
