1863 REBEL Battle Flag

Do you have any history regarding that particular flag or was it one you found someplace?

Although I assume if the OP had that it'd be mentioned. It's still an awesome relic to have. I don't know what I'd be willing to pay for a flag from Company F, GA 48th Inf., CSA.
 
Is that the famous F Troup?
I don't think they were mounted, lol.

Colstons and Powells from Johnson County were my mom's family.

GGG Grandfather:
Colston, Charles H., Jr. -- 2nd Lieutenant - March 4, 1862. Wounded July 2, 1862. Died of wounds in Quarters August 3, 1862. (Born in 1822.)

Other family members mustered in the Battleground Guards from Johnson Co.:

Colston, William W. -- Private - May 1, 1864. Captured at Burkeville, Virginia, April 4, 1865. Released at Point Lookout, Maryland, July 26, 1865.

Cole, William Y. -- Private - March 4, 1862. Appointed 4th Corporal February 1863. Killed at Petersburg, Virginia, July 13, 1864. (Born in 1838.)

Powell, Crayton L. -- Private - May 1, 1862. Appointed 5th Sergeant September 9, 1864. Pension records show he was at home on furlough close of war. (Born in Emanuel County, Georgia October 24, 1826.)

Powell, E. L. B. (or E. L. D.) -- Private - May 20, 1862. Died in service.

Powell, John W. -- Private - March 1, 1862. Captured at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 2, 1863.

Powell, Joseph W. -- Private - March 4, 1862. Wounded and captured at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 2, 1863. Sent to Fort McHenry, Maryland, July 5, 1863. Transferred to Fort Delaware, Delaware, July 6, 1863, and died there September 26, 1863. (Born in 1840.)

Powell, Robert L. -- Private - March 4, 1862. Captured in 1864. Paroled in 1865. Died October 17, 1895.

Powell, Sampson -- Private - September 24, 1864. Surrendered at Appomattox, Virginia, April 9, 1865.

Powell, Stephen -- Private - May 1, 1862. Killed at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 2, 1863.

Powell, William M. (or William W.) -- Private - May 1, 1862. Discharged April 16, 1863.
 
Gr Grandfather,Thomas Franklin Spruill,63rd Ga Regiment. Kennesaw Mtn,Atlanta,???,released in Va and walked home.
