1903 serial number?

    When I saw 1903 I immediately thought of Springfield, Rock Island, or Remington Model 1903's or 1903A3.

    Possibly the R means it was re-barreled at the factory at some point but that is just speculation. It appears to be manufactured during the first year of production by the low serial number.

    They kept the first 3 so it's the 103rd to leave the factory I suppose
