I’ve been reloading a little over year and am in need of another batch of 1911 food.

So far for .45 acp I’ve loaded:

Berry’s 230gr fmj over 5.3gr W231
Berry’s 230gr fmj over 7.8gr Accurate #5
Hornady XTP 230gr over 6.8gr of CFEP
Speer 200gr lswc over 7.8gr of CFEP

I have Extreme 230gr plated, and more Speer 200gr lswc for projectiles and a large assortment of powders on hand.

What’s everyone’s favorite loads for 1911 food?

No specific favorites, but I do prefer fast powders and the 185LSWC, or the 200LSWC as a 2nd choice, loaded to 850 FPS.

Powders: BullsEye, RedDot, TiteGroup,W231, Clays

I probably shoot more WST than anything with 180 - 200 lead swc. Still shoot bullseye for longer distance accuracy.. 4.0 - 4.4 of WST and 3.9 - 4.0 of bullseye.

I've tried loading semi wad cutters, I think 200 gr. but neither of my 1911s will function well with them. Any tips.

Blue dot and berry's RN seems to work fine though.

My Sig 1911 really likes these.
