1911 question

I think hes probably baseing his opinion on the 820 fps 230 grain in the ballistic charts.All of us who shoot and use the 45 knows that its not much to look at,doesnt mean much though,where the metal meets the meat:)
What would really replace it? If I have to grab a pistol in my house where my family is, I'm grabbing the slow heavy .45 HP, not the fast 9mm or .357sig...

And it WILL be my next can size.
 
45 acp would’ve been killed by 38 super. And again by 10mm. Except America has a love affair with the 1911
Please don't take this the wrong way, but you're out of your mind.

Those rounds are in completely different categories with completely different purposes.

.38 super is basically a competition cartridge, and 10mm is too hot to be suppressed as effectively.
