These are Wilson Combat shock buffers, Typically used on 1911 type pistols with a heavy recoil spring.
I have a Star PD, which is a fine gun, it came standard with a shock buffer because it has an alloy frame. It so happens that these fine Wilson Combat products are a straight up replacement for the Star product, which I'm sure brings great comfort to Wilson.
