This past weekend I went up to Knoxville, TN and I brought back my dads pickup.
This is a 1986 model Toyota SR5, 4X4 EFI Extended Cab. My dad bought this truck brand new in 1986, right off the dealers floor.
He has been the only person to drive it during the last 34 years. It has been a great truck and provided him years and years of service. Last November the engine finally gave out and he had a brand new Jasper engine put in it.
It currently has about 3000 miles on that engine. It has 240,000 miles on the rest of the truck.
Due to age and other issues, he can not handle, drive, or do the upkeep on the truck, so I brought it home to restore, and then pass it down to my daughter, who he has promised it to.
After unloading last night, I had to put in a new battery, check the oil, and fill the radiator. For some reason, the radiator cap was unscrewed. I hope it was not driven until it got too hot.
I've driven it around the driveway and out in my field this evening. So far, it seems to be fine.
Interior and exterior work will start in the next few weeks.
Enjoy the pictures.....
