2011 Deer Season Kills ...

Got this 8 point here in Walker co with a ole Marlin 30/30, Sunday morning 10/23/11 at about 8am. He was work'n his way along the top of a big hardwood ridge, the shot was no futher than 50 yards.

Skinned out the head and fixed it yesterday.

Killed this one this past monday evening. Would have been nice 8 point but had some broken tines. Dont know if you can tell the color in this pic but very dark antlers. Shot at about 50 -60 yards with Savage 270 130 grain 3 x 9 x 50 pentax gameseeker. Toughest damn deer i ever shot made great shot (both lungs and liver) and when I found him 3 hours after shot had to give him two .40 from the g27 to get him to stay still while dragging the 250 yards to the truck....whew!

Just curious about what part of floyd county.I've been huntin west of Rome on 100 for about ten years and have yet to see a true quality buck.
