2015 Chevy Silverado transmission problems?

At my new job I got issued a 07 chebby 2500 with 170K on the clock
Former employer had me in a 2012 Tundra

Night and day
The chebby actually rides rougher than my old 18 wheeler, engine has no power, the entire truck squeaks and rattles and the transmission is constantly hunting gears and the instant you back off the gas while driving In city traffic it goes directly to 6th gear, even at 20 mph up a hill , and it will NOT shift out of 6th unless you slam the pedal to the floor , then it skips to 4th or 3rd

It's a total, total, POS compared to a Tundra

Test drive a tundra crewmax with the 400 HP 5.7 engine .

It's what ford Chevy and dodge wish their trucks could be, it rides smooth as any passenger car , has more power than you could want , gets 4 mpg better than a Chevy , the back door is 48 inches long , making more room in the back seat than in the front seat

Well I would hope any truck that is 5 years younger drives better than the old one.

They do have to learn your drivibg habits

No different then reprogramming updating computer they will shift weird until it learns

I worked for transmission shop and it's very true

You mean to tell me a 3/4 ton truck rides stiffer than a half ton truck? Whoda thunk it?

I'd bet your tundra that was taken away had lower miles than the beat to death chebby you have to drive now.

My 3/4 ton chevy DOES ride stiffer than my 1/2 ton chevy. Different tools for different jobs. And adding up the miles on those 2 trucks, there are over 740,000 miles they have delivered.

Oh, and the transmission on the 1/2 ton had bad shift points and was not optimized for towing. In 1991 I went through the tranny, adjusted the shift points to suit my driving style, and upped the line pressure for firmer shifts, and cooler running under load. Still have it, and NO transmission problems since.

How about a 2014 Z71 with a semi rough idle while stopped with it in Drive? (Ex. Foot on brake at a red light)

It's just enough to be annoying.

If the transmission sucks this bad now, just imagine how bad it's going to suck when it's not covered under the factory warranty anymore. If it was my truck they would replace the transmission or issue a full refund. Georgia law allows up to $15,000 in small claims court, sue the dealership for $15,000 and GM for $15,000, force them to take the truck back and do the smart thing... buy a Toyota.

Had a friend who's Toyota did the same thing, although they solved the problem with a software update

I have almost 15000 miles on my 2015 z71 lt and I haven't had a problem. I stomp the crap out of it and it is always right there for me.

Tundra has a higher tow capacity than the 3/4 ton Chevy

The Chevy rides stiffer than any of my 18 wheeler tractors

Tow capacity means diddly. It is still a light duty truck. I have driven road tractors, and a 3/4 ton is nowhere near as harsh as a road tractor.

The Tundra is aimed at the SUV/soccer mom drivers, that is why it is lightly sprung and has a soft ride.
