2017 National Concealed Carry Reciprocity

I'll bet a lot of the folks on that list will vote for it... but call anyway. My rep will definitely vote AGAINST it, but it doesn't hurt to let him know he's on the wrong side.

Besides, when it goes to the Senate there should be lots of stories about how their office got flooded with calls.

My rep cannot vote for it as it abrades his party's political platform that has existed for decades.

Preventing Gun Violence
With 33,000 Americans dying every year, Democrats believe that we must finally take sensible action to address gun violence. While responsible gun ownership is part of the fabric of many communities, too many families in America have suffered from gun violence. We can respect the rights of responsible gun owners while keeping our communities safe. To build on the success of the lifesaving Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, we will expand and strengthen background checks and close dangerous loopholes in our current laws; repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA) to revoke the dangerous legal immunity protections gun makers and sellers now enjoy; and keep weapons of war—such as assault weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines (LCAM's)—off our streets. We will fight back against attempts to make it harder for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives to revoke federal licenses from law breaking gun dealers, and ensure guns do not fall into the hands of terrorists, intimate partner abusers, other violent criminals, and those with severe mental health issues. There is insufficient research on effective gun prevention policies, which is why the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention must have the resources it needs to study gun violence as a public health issue.

The 33K include those killed during committing a forcible felony (justified homicide) both non-police, lawful police shootings and importantly suicides (the majority of their 33K).

They "can respect gun rights" their actions prove otherwise.

They want "universal back ground checks" or the criminalization of private transfers between legal to possess individuals that will allow their goal of backdoor registration of all legal firearms in just one generation.

They are pushing to allow firearms makers responsible when criminals use their products illegally. They have been so aggressive at this (mostly blue states) that a federal law had to be created to strengthen commerce protection laws. They falsely claim it prevents protection of consumers-that is a damn lie but enables the feeble minded to support their political plank.

They want their divide an conquer plan of making more firearms "illegal" and their normal capacity magazines and when in failure to maintain the illusion of "public safety" will demand evermore stringent bans until nothing exist to ban.

They promote the false perception that firearms dealers are criminals and the ATF needs more power than they already have been granted to rein in these fugitives. They enacted policy with the banking industry that threatened their licenses if they did not process firearms dealers/manufactures in the same as the porno industry and considered a financial risk.

They have pushed the mental illness envelope to include former military combat vets who allow their spouse to pay the bills and without due process stripped them of their ability to pass a federal "back ground" and deny them the ability to purchase a legal gun.

They lost their CDC Golden Cow that was ran by those they appointed and was politicized not unlike the recent IRS targeting conservatives or simply sounding conservative and abusing position and power of office. The CDC head was public about attacking legal firearms and their owners. He coordinated public funds to create propaganda in order to legislate gun rights away and was successful to a degree until exposed for the frauds they are. Emory University's Dr. Arthur Kellerman was one of the most prolific. His fake/falsified 43 times more likely to injured by your gun than saved by it is still being parroted by legislators. He was discredited and removed from academia but his work lives on in the hearts and minds of leftist democrap/socialist. All the funded studies "researched" the adverse outcomes but never considered the positive nor researched it. It is the same as intently studying a drug's adverse reactions, publicizing and politicizing that date to remove it but never considering any benefit.

"Gun Violence" studies are afforded a great latitude of inappropriate research indiscretions if it supports their leftist beliefs.

If you are interested in the votes from yesterday, here they are https://www.govtrack.us/congress/votes/115-2017/h663

There were two Republicans from Florida that voted NO. It's been years since FLA has passed pro-gun legislation. GunShine state no more it seems.
