Either way, seems to get good gas mileage. What is the cost of diesel up there?

I filled up today for 296 a gallon.

My LS at a 500rpm idle has rock steady 40psi oil pressure...on an Autometer gauge...and warm

Sooo...different motors running different fuels have different oil pressures at idle? That’s so odd.

If anything, I'd want higher oil pressure/volume on ultra high compression diesel engines.
Oil acts as a lubricant and a coolant.
That's why diesels have high capacity oil pans.

There’s nothing wrong with that oil pressure at idle. Quit jacking with the dude.

They use dime store quality gauges and senders. More likely the sender. And, gm likes to power the lift pump through the oil pressure sending unit for roll over protection.My oil pressure sender got flakey on my diesel and caused the lift pump to go intermittent. Had I not caught it, would have cost me an injection pump.

Good to catch the little things before they turn into expensive things.

Do not know about today, but all factory gauges were "center hung" at one time , normal reading was near the center of the gauge.
