2022/23 harvest page

My daughter filled her Kansas muzzle loader tag. 150 yard shot with 50 cal Thompson Center Encore. Got in the stand at 2:30 and at 3 I saw him stand up in some tall grass, stretch, turn around and then laid back down. At 5:15 he got up again and came into shooting range. That was a long couple hours waiting on him to get back up.

Shot a “doe” right at last light that ended up being a button buck. Angle was quartering more than I anticipated, hit was a tad back. Backed out after checking my arrow, gave the deer some time to lay and found it in its first and only bed.
Late night afield, didn’t do any photo sessions. All I can leave y’all with is this:
Gold Tip Air Strike 250 arrow and a Slick Trick 150 buried up over a foot deep in the ground after passing through. Almost 600 grain total weight.

Tell that young lady congrats and I’m a little jealous of her boyfriend.and that big ol buck

This morning I was sitting on the front porch drinking my coffee when this 1 came to the feeder which is 50 yards from the porch. It was quartering toward me eating corn. I had my crossbow laying next to me so I cocked it. He didn't run off so I fired 1 at him. My shot was a tad left from where I was aiming but it hit his neck and broke it. He dropped in his tracks. Got the 1st one out of the way now I can get the BIG BOY.
