.22 or .25 - Please advise

Mag capacity and cost of ammo both go to the 22LR. Ballistics as can be seen on these Steve's pages results are pretty close. It's been a long time since the last dud 22 round for me.

In my opinion, if you are going to carry a 25, you may as well step on up to a .380. If 380 is too biog, then 22 is the better option. Again, my 2 cents.

When shtf I had to downgrade to a 22 for defense. My grandfather, a certified range officer and my moms fiancé both feel comfortable with a 22 mag NAA. Way I see it, a few 22's to the chest and more to the head once I get the laser trained there are taking anybody out quickly.

Not worried about cost or availability - just really needing to know which one has better stopping abilities.

.22. Some .22 hollowpoints create more damage then the slow moving .25. Id rather it go bang everytime though. Thats why I picked the .25. Cause out of a little gun like that. Im going to empty it.

Tough call... the .22 allows for more affordable practice but the .25 has greater reliability.
Both are slightly better than a sharp stick but I'd have to give the edge to the .25
When we practice with "BUGS" (back up guns) we practice dumping the entire mag. into the face/ throat area due to the weakness of the caliber(s).
