22 WMR or 17 HMR?

Which rimfire caliber do you prefer for a bolt action varmint rifle and why? For non-game use only (ground hogs up to coyotes).
The ammo is the same price now so that's not a factor.

I like the 22 mag better just seems to stand wind and little twigs better—— I much rather shoot varmints with a 223 they are dirt most I’ve shot with 17 and 22 mag requires head are spine or you gonna have to go find them when they run.

Id say .22 mag over .17

22 mag has better options. 30,40and 50 grain fmj and hollow points. I like and use both but lean toward 22 mag.
