savings really start when you are considering calibers that are $40-80/box.

Save your brass so if you decide to get into it further down the road you'll have a good start.

I think I'll stay away from the reloading game after reading all of your replies and watching a couple of YouTube videos. Doesn't sound like something I'd like to do, as my free time is valuable to me--more valuable to me than the supposed savings I might get from reloading.

You have a key element that never comes out in discussion of whether reloading is a cost saver.

In Econ 101, it is called "opportunity cost".

What is the value of your time that you would spend reloading - not necessarily in dollars, but in "opportunities" that you forego.

Unless you are a very high volume shooter, reloading is a hobby, and should be treated like any other hobby - gardening, golf, collecting stamps and so on.
