I am happy with the 90gr XTP’s I load up myself with A#9 in .357sig for just shooting random items in the back yard. Not going to carry those loads but they are amazing!

When I took the MAG40 class more than a decade ago Massad Ayoob talked about how he really liked the 357SIG because it had the same effects he'd seen over the years with the 357 Magnum.

He didn't have an explanation, but from his experience both had the 'one shot stop' capability that other calibers (both bigger and smaller) just didn't have.

To him they both seemed to have the perfect combination of speed, size, density, etc. to be the most effective rounds he'd seen over the years.

He admitted he didn't have any hard data on this, and it was mentioned conversationally not as fact, but I always thought it was interesting.
