what ammo is best to shoot in these older Revolvers? I have a few boxes but all different types, don’t want to hurt my new War baby? See pic

Is it chambered for .38 Smith & Wesson or been bored out to accept .38 Special?
I have one that was re-chambered to .38 Special. I shoot regular .38 Special loads with no issues at all. I'd stay away from +P just to be safe.

I have a couple of these one original and 2 re-chambered. They shoot well with standard 38 ammo. They feel real comfortable in my hand and it's a piece of history. Enjoy it!

i have one, but I wouldn't shoot the +P you show in it.

The gun will handle it, (not going to tell the story of the current SAAMI .38 special +P), but I don't see the point in unduly stressing a gun that I assume you are keeping as an artifact.

Loads like this are "of the period", if you want to go that way,

Personally, I shoot 158 gr. lead round nose, which would also be "of the period" but not a military round. It actually was sort of the standard police load at the time.
