.380 question / carry with safety

ODT folks a lady who cuts my hair wants a small handgun to carry in her purse. She wants a safety (has a Glock 26) .

What say you? I have zero experience with pocket carry / .380

Have her check out the new M&P Shield 'EZ' when it comes out. It's a 380 and I think can be had with an external safety.

She understands that an external safety doesn't mean she can carry it loose in her purse, right? She needs a holster permanently mounted in there no matter what.

Shield .380. She can get a grip AND thumb safety.

A good holster is all she needs. Tell her to take some courses so she does not put her life and the lives of others in the hands of a mechanical safety lever . A safety lever is not a substitute for good firearms practices.

She might like the SIG P238, great little shooter with thumb safety and nite sights, plenty of holster options too

Its a good thing on some firearms. The FN five seven has the best one. Its right at the index , easy to hit and the damn thing made me nervous without it when re-holstering. That is why I eventually ditched it.

That being said I would not base my choice on that alone as some need them some dont.
