I have had S&W 3913 TSW for 10+ years. For years it was my only CCW. I realized a while I dont remember the last time I shot it. I all of my current carry guns are now striker fired and thats what I am used to. The reason I dont shoot it is the DA/SA gets me. I am considering selling or trading and getting a Shield with Apex to carry when I want a single stack. I owned one for a few days but it was so close to the same size as my 3913 and I had a friend that wanted it so I sold it to him. I never really gave it a chance but am considering one again. Does this make sense?

dude my 3913 shoots like butter

even the da is sweet, then the single action is amazing. for a double stack and compact i shoot just as good with it as my full size cz75

not only that.....BUT IT HAS SAFETIES! (well so does the shield i think but i prefer a slide mounted safety versus a frame mounted one)

I have a 5906 I acquired in mint condition but I rarely shoot it. However it'll be one of the last ones I sell because every other one I see is a police trade in. If you have a good older Smith I'd keep it before trading it.

I still have my 3913 and will never sell it. It is the best "just right" pistol I own. Just the right size grip to get all of my hand on it and almost none of the grip hanging out from my hand. The slide and barrel length are good for accuracy and concealment and the slide is big enough to manipulate without crowding my hand on it. The width of the pistol perfect for concealment.

I am a Glock carrier because its what I have to carry it at work and I carry them off duty to maximize my familiarity with the glock system. But years ago the 3913 and 4 spare magazines was my duty gun on uniform patrol and my primary off duty gun. If I wasnt mandated to carry a Glock, I would have no qualms carrying the 3913 again on the street. I like and trust the 3913 that much.

Went to the range tonight. I decided I'm going to hang onto my 3913. I probably won't shoot it but I doubt I'm gonna find the shield what I want.

No safety shields are now available and I would think they are lighter than the 3913. I love my shield for a CCW, great little shooter too...

3913. The shield is nice and all but its never going to shoot as nice as the 3913. I have not had the opportunity to upgrade either of the shields I owned to the APEX trigger and I guess that's part of why I wasn't crazy about them. The trigger sucks and I'm way too impatient. If it were me, I would keep the 3913. Shields are a dime a dozen, the 3913 are not.
