    Hey guys,

Scored this on GunBroker a few days ago. Ironically, I was the only person who bid. Bolt is correct. Finish is original. Barrel is a Avis 1919 replacement. All and all, I'm happy with it.

Who else has very early Garand/'03s?

I'll probably shoot it some. Won't hurt to stretch it's legs a bit.

I suppose you may know that already or something else about this one that makes it different, since you're a CMP armorer...

    Good looking rifle!

Have you read about the early 1903 rifles with possible heat treatment issues?
    http://m1903.com/03rcvrfail/
Very rare and if you load your own ammo on the light side probably not an issue.
    Very nice rifle!
