45 acp for close quarter hunting

Not sure what the current handgun law is in Ga. but the old law was 6 inch barrel and 500 ft/lbs of energy at the muzzle

IMHO, a 45 ACP has less than 500ft/lb energy. That’s not sufficient for ethical hunting. Will it kill a deer? Sure. I just feel that it’s a bit lacking

yea with 44 mag, 41 mag, 357 mag, 45 Colt, 454 Casull, 460 S&W, 480 Ruger out there why go with a 45 acp?

I’m down to either a 10mm or 44 mag. Will depend on what pops up for sale that’s close to me. Both are expensive to feed, but I can at least use my Lyman and reload for the 44.

You can usually catch a 10mm Glock for around $400. Seen a few pop up in the last couple months.

They did away with those restrictions quite a few years ago.
Modern Rifles and Handguns: Centerfire only, .22-cal. or larger with expanding bullets. There is no restriction on magazine capacity for rifles.

I never want to shoot less than or hover at the threshold. When in doubt go bigger. You owe it to the deer.

Corbon and Buffalo Bore both have a 185 grain projectiles out of a 45acp p
At 1150 feet per second. You are in 10 mm range here and you're saying it's not enough for deer?

Yep 204 Ruger illegal, 25 ACP legal.
