.45 ACP Who's a believer?

Wife bought me an FNP-45 for Xmas. Haven't shot it yet, and its been almost 20 years since I shot a 45ACP. Went to a range yesterday and every dang lane was in use. To top that off, the WallyHouse nearest the home had ammo, but no one could unlock the friggen case to sell me it.

A conspiracy!

Ouch that hurts a new pistol, no ammo or place to shoot it. I have heard real good stuff with those .45 FNP's. Hope it gets better soon.

Naw only used my finger or when Mom bought me caps. BB guns can put an eye you know.

Interesting, you must of edited your post as you have added to it. I'm sorry you had to drop the hammer on a .50 BMG on a foe. How many have you had to shoot with your 9mm and ball ammo?

Don't be. My only regrets are the ones I didn't "drop the hammer on." I should have wasted every cop in the Iraqi police station that abducted and tortured my native interpretor. I let them live and we got our guy out. They went into his house six months after we left and shot him in the head in front of his wife and children. Regret.
The two truck loads of Mahdi militia I had in my sights that never fired a shot or pointed a weapon in my direction. I should have killed them all. But, I didn't recognize them for who they were and they posed no threat. They snuck Moqtada al Sadr out of his hiding hole directly under my nose 500 meters away. Regret.

Those are my regrets. I am sorry I didn't kill more of them. If you have never been there and done that don't presume to tell me how you would have responded. Because you won't know until you are faced with the same situation.

How does it go; it's better to regret something you have done rather than something you haven't. The ROE is always a issue and there will always be some soul deserving of a bullet that opted out. I really appreciate you and your brothers. The right decision is often easy in hindsight but for the Joe pounding the ground it's another issue and he is the one that has to live with it.

Regreting something you have done often comes with time in levenworth. You have plenty of time to regret killing the guy with the AK there who was a member of the ING.

Eh, use to be on the 40+ band wagon for a while, shoot smoothly with a 45 all day long. At the end of the day, Im competent with both calibers, but when I go the range I go to have a good timeshooting. And that's where 9mm has overshadowed the 45s. All in all, only caliber I'm really nor fond of is .40

First of all, fortunately, I've never had to test the effectiveness of either one on an individual. But here is what made a believer out of me...

Me and a friend decided to shoot some scrap steel while at his cabin in the mountains. Our target was a plate about 1/16" thick. We set it up and he fired until he emptied all of his 9mm magazine. The steel target was still standing.

Then it was my turn to shoot. My first shot from my .45 sent the target flipping end over end and left it flat on the ground. When we went to pick it up the difference was very clear. Each of his 9mm hits had punched a clean hole approx 3/8" diameter straight through. While the .45 had left a jagged hole through the metal over an inch in diameter (I was able to drop a quarter through the hole).

It was the difference in a fast light bullet punching straight through, versus a slow heavy bullet ripping through and creating 3x more damage.

He sold his 9mm the very next week... made a believer outta him too! :thumb:

While we're off subject... Soviet, Why is your gun in a Styrofoam plate??? :p

With 88 .45ACP pistols, I believe.

As a matter of fact, I just bought this one yesterday.

Remington 1911-R1 Enhanced

That brought me up to 81 1911s (two of which are 9mm).

:hail: Good lawd Tackleberry! You have a serious 1911 addiction issue and my personal and professional conscious can't allow me to see you decompensate any further. Part of your treatment plan will involve slowly reducing your 1911 stockpile. I'll help you with this. Just PM me and I'll give you the details on which FFL we can use. I'm here to help you sir.

Honestly, you have a wide range of tasteful 1911's.
