50 cal ammo crate question

does anybody recognize the vintage of this crate? Found while cleaning up my dads basement, he says it's not Vietnam or not something he saw while there. Sorry if wrong section but not sure where it belongs

Yeah alleycat could probably be more specific but I'd say based on the font its at least Korea may be even world war two.

Looks like WWII ammo, possibly loaded specifically for use with aircraft weapons

There you go. I wouldn't have guessed it was for aircraft that's neat.
