The old style shell boxes can be valuable and have sold well on ebay. About 10 years ago my X-father in law used to shoot paper shells from the 50-60's on the skeet field all the time without issue.

i've shot old paper shelled 12 gauge and it will fire. if improperly stored the accuracy will be non-existent probably due to the powder getting humid
