Franklin's in Athens is running a "special cell/sail/sell/sale" on them for $49.99"

$20 for a 500-round brick would be a good deal EVEN WITHOUT the lingering issues of a rimfire ammo shortage and price-gouging.
Just normal inflation and the increasing costs of lead and brass over the last 20 years should mean that the cost of a brick, adjusted for inflation compared to what it cost back 20 or 30 years ago ($10 in 1980s, $17 or so in 1990s) should put it around $25 today.
I'd happily pay $25 a brick, or 5 cents per round.

(About 10 years ago, I found CCI Blazer .22LR high velocity on sale, over the internet, for $21. a brick plus shipping, but that was an unusually good deal even back then.)
