I hit 5k on fathers day last year. They give you the full 5k but you get taxed at the end of the year. We ended up paying 1400 on the 5k in taxes

2002 in Villa Rica a guy I know hit 4500.00 on a machine...the owner said Lotto...gas..merchandise.
He filled up his car bought 4 cases of Bud and 6 cartons of cigarettes
And bought 12 rolls of lottery.
He ended up with 800.00 when he decide to stop.
I saw a retired railroad neighbor play 5 2.00 Jumbo Bucks. Hit a couple of tickets go back buy 10.00 more so he had 7 tickets (2 free tickets that he won from the 5 previously bought) hit 50,000.00 on ticket 117.
Now I am going to play 10 consecutive draws for Mega Million 2 tickets 🎟 same numbers will total 40.00. If I win or lose I won't gamble on the lottery again. I have been playing since 1997 and best I did was 1997 hit 121 500.00 x 10 straight 5000.00 tax free.
I saw a convenient store owner 2010 or about hit 100 times 500.00 cash 3 played 555 I couldn't believe it.
He got the idea whe he saw his tax return.
The guy was 26 and his parents owned the store outside of Carrollton. He is well off anyway

My guess is if you sell it , you don’t have to pay the taxes and the person cashes it in would pay the taxes. Sounds like taxes wouldn’t be worth it unless you would take a lot less.

Lotto just seems like a rip off to me personally.

Did that guy who won the 250k did he blow it quickly or did he invest it?

I am taking now that I don't have to take out as much from my retirement. I thought I was going to have 150k but I got an accountant to help so now I am going to cash it.
