6.5mm Loads

Another good load that groups good at 100-300 yards.

140 hornady match bt
41.7 gr H-4350

The seating depth is specific to my gun: AOL 2.770
All of us boys are at different stages of our reloading careers so I'll explain a bit on my seating depth. This bullets ogive touches the lands at 2.800 in my gun. The 140 match bt has a tangent ogive and likes a bit of jump through the free bore. Setting the bullet around 2.770 gives it about 30 thousands jump.

Most VLD's with a secant ogive in my gun like to be sitting on the lands or just barely off.
Any of u guys that aren't sure about what I was just talking about or do not know how to find max depth for ur bullet I would be happy to explain it over the phone or help show u in person. I really enjoy the 6.5 creedmoor round and am happy to help anyone that needs a bit.

Who doesn't load when it's messy outside like today?

Reloading is done inside, but I hear to not to load on rainy days.

I thought that's what days like this were for? I've read what you are talking about but my ammo doesn't seem to mind. I also FL resize my rifle brass and don't sort my components by weight so what do I know?

3 Shots previous touching.

I'm going to rezero @ 100 for now until we get the final load. 300yrd Zero makes me question a couple of the shots.

25 ready to verify with.

Has anyone else drilled out the spacer in the front of the AI mags?

why is the 300 making you question your shots? have you changed your BC?

I switched from the 142 Accubond LRs to 140 Berger Hybrids today, and there is certainly a difference in the BC between those 2.

I jumped the gun, so to speak , zeroing @ 300 yards and then switching bullets.

I was @ 43 grains of H4350 @ 2750 with the 142 Accubonds, we think, but have not verified with the new Chrono.

With the 140 grain Hybrids, 41.5 grains of H4350 = 2700fps.
Need more verification.

I was really hoping for 2800+ fps with an ES of < 10, and bug holes.

So far, there seems to be a node around 2650-2700....

I've got other powders, but H4350 seems to be doing Good.

I bought 1lb of Reloader 17 today to try, but everything I'm reading says H4350 will be the most consistent.

try up to 43.0 grains you might reach another node as long as you don't get pressure signs. I was getting 2823 with 142 SMKs and 43.0 grains of h4350 out of my creedmoor before i went to the 130s
