6.5mm Loads

You guys may not want to know my load for the 6.5 creedmore and certainly please don't try to duplicate it without working up and checking pressure signs along the way.

Running a 24" Brux barrel with 1:8 twist

142gr. Sierra BTHP
46.0 Grains of H4350
COAL of 2.882

10 shot average velocity was 3060

.

if you keep this up,you will end up with more than ring shape pit burnt into your bolt face.

the point here and something for you to think seriously about is none and I mean none of the Pressure signs you mentioned are 100% reliable..

even using a Chronograph and using Quickload is not 100% and that's the closest thing we have to compare to the reloading data published by folks who do have the ability to really know the pressures experienced...

if you want more velocity simply move up to the 6.5 Weatherby or 26 Nosler

sure hope you are running a 700 action..

That's awfully slow for 6.5x284.

Not according to any data I've seen. I can get to 3050, but I'm getting hard bolt lift and primer pockets are swelling.

That you can get the same velocity with 140 gr. bullets, and 10 grains less powder is surprising.
